Meet the Rdentify Team: Nige Roberts, Sales Director

Rdentify is moving into an exciting new phase. As we continue to create rewarding partnerships with global gaming innovators such as GiG and Neccton, our mission to deliver responsible gaming software is taking shape across multiple markets.

Our Sales Director Nige Roberts has been playing a crucial part in this commercial expansion. With over 25 years of experience in the security and iGaming sectors, Nige has a wealth of industry knowledge, and is skilled at developing the right action plan for each of his client’s needs. Not only is he committed to helping clients choose the best plan for them, but he is also passionate about driving change in the industry to improve welfare standards for players.

We caught up with Nige to discuss his exciting role with us here at Rdentify.

1. Tell us a bit more about your role at Rdentify. What is it you do that clients and decision-makers value the most?

As Rdentify’s Sales Director, I introduce operators to our gambling harm solution with a friendly and informative approach.

As I have a very good understanding of the problems operators face on a daily basis, I’m able to nurture solid relationships with clients. I identify practical, measured solutions for each individual client, and demonstrate just how important it is to look after vulnerable players. My motto is “Protect your players, protect your business”- and it’s proven to be true time and time again.

2. What are some of the key problems that we solve for our customers?

Despite the high-quality training of customer service agents, signs of gambling harm and vulnerability can be missed. This can then lead to further harm and even litigation.

Rdentify was designed to close that net by helping the agent recognise the signs of problem gambling in real time, and enabling the agent to resolve issues by way of a risk score. The risk score applies to the current in-game conversation, but a historic risk score is also available for each player.

3. What makes Rdentify stand out against the competition?

Rdentify is unique. We have the best team who are constantly innovating and staying ahead of the competition, ensuring we continue to grow and gain a better understanding of our field. This helps us provide a competitive solution that tackles gambling-related harms head-on.

When a person is suffering from gambling addiction, they can tend to hide it. This addiction continues to stay hidden until something drastic happens to expose it, which means that an offer of self-exclusion simply isn’t enough. Rdentify overcomes this barrier by flagging the early warning signs of gambling addiction so the appropriate steps can be taken.

4. What was the last (good or bad) thing you read about the gambling industry that provoked a strong response from you?

The increase in suicides from gambling harm that could have easily been prevented has had quite an impact on me. I appreciate that a lot of operators are taking gambling harm seriously and they are putting measures in place that will ensure player protection, but we need to move with much more urgency. Our industry is changing all the time, and a clear response to preventing problem gambling is key to its success.

5. Does using Rdentify make it easier to abide by the guidance set out by the Gambling Commission?

Absolutely. The requirements laid out by the Gambling Commission can be easily adhered to when you use our software.

Rdentify can and will help operators remain compliant during the imminent changes towards player protection.

6. How easy is it to integrate Rdentify into a CRM?

We are asked this a lot. And the answer is always welcomed!

Rdentify integrates directly with an operator’s player chat or email platform. Integration takes usually no more than 2 hours of an operator’s developer time – so no major upset on anyone’s roadmap.

7. How can gambling firms make vulnerable customers a priority?

Operators need to identify vulnerable players very early on and continue to protect them from potential harm.

We specialise in using AI and Natural Language Processing, which analyses every single line of your in-player chats to detect signs of vulnerability.  An analysis of keywords alone does not work. The structure of sentences needs to be understood to recognise a person in distress.

8. What do you enjoy most about your role at Rdentify?

It’s a dream role. I get to spend time with some of the most interesting people I’ve ever met!

The team I work with are amazing- they are incredibly focused.  We fully believe in what we’re doing and why we’re doing it. I am proud to be part of the journey.

9. How does the Rdentify team stay motivated?

It’s all about working towards a shared goal. And to do that well, you need a team that is skilled, curious, and eager to drive change. This is integral to our success.

I’m really proud of how far the Rdentify team has come. Everyone’s committed to growing the business, and I appreciate the fact that we all support each other 100%.

10. What does Rdentify look like in the next three years?

We are constantly innovating, and our roadmap is very interesting, to say the least!

I will be introducing Rdentify to other industries where vulnerability needs to be recognised, such as finance and energy. We will be applying the same methods we currently use for the gaming industry to ensure the welfare of customers is prioritised.

The future looks incredibly bright for Rdentify as we expand our markets in 2022. I’m excited to see what we can achieve!
